Since the inception of the evidence-based practice (EBP) movement in the 1990s, there has been persistent concern about the movement of research from bench to bedside.A growing amount of EBP literature is now focused on the field of implementation research - the uptake of interventions that have proven effective into routine practice, with the aim of improving population health.Implementation science is needed to account for the complexities of the systems in which interventions are implemented since other approaches often fail to address these.

Join us for an opportunity to share new research, evidence based practice strategies, and innovations focused on sustaining and disseminating practice changes across the healthcare continuum. Conference participants will learn strategies to translate evidence into practice and have an opportunity to discuss a wide variety of clinical issues that will be presented. The goal is to come away with a better understanding of how implementation practices can impact patient care and clinical outcomes.

  1. Distinguish factors that promote or impede the adoption, adaptation and maintenance of health-related interventions on population health.
  2. Translate evidence-based strategies into solutions to advance clinical practice, enhance patient safety and promote a healthy work environment.
  3. Identify strategies to accelerate the translation of evidence into practice, policy and public health.
